Habitat for Humanity

A Habitat membership is a way to commit to volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and to make a difference in the struggle for affordable housing. The membership dues help the chapter to reach our annual pledge goal. In return we offer the following benefits to our members:

Membership benefits

  1. 2009-2010 U of M Habitat chapter t-shirt
  2. Build preference: Chapter members will have priority over non-members for volunteer events at our house site, the ReStore, and panel plant. Our chapter is allowed a set number of volunteers for each event, many of which fill up
  3. Early trip sign-ups: Each winter and spring break we send groups to various places within the continential U.S. The more popular destinationed trips, such as Florida, fill up quickly. Members have first pick for trip sign-ups
  4. Member of a subcommittee: You will be able to join an event subcommittee to gain leadership experience and become more involved in the chapter

Membership is $15 for the Spring 2010 semester. There are a few options to get the money to us: you can bring the $15 to the SAO office (Room 126) on the first floor of Coffman (please put the money in an envelope titled "Habitat for Humanity c/o Anna Eggen and your name"). Our board members also hold office hours during the week. Our office is located on the second floor of Coffman, Room 226 (walk through the double doors and we are the first door on the left). Or, if you are able to make it to our next general meeting, you can bring the $15 then.

If you want to join our chapter, please fill out the membership form and bring the $15 membership dues to us at your earliest convenience. We're always looking for more members and we would love to have you join us! If you have any questions about joining, feel free to contact us through our online form or email the vice-president directly at vicepresident@uofmhabitat.org
