Do you like to work with your hands? Meet students from the U and get off campus? We have the perfect opportunity for you!

House builds are volunteer events through our chapter where we team up with our local Twin Cities affiliate to help in the building of a Habitat home each year. In past years, the U of M chapter has worked on sites in Oakdale and Woodbury. Fall 2009 we have been working on a building site in Oakdale. At the site you will have the chance to work alongside other chapter members, site supervisors, home buyers, and Americorps members. The time you volunteer is very much appreciated since Habitat homes are built almost entirely by volunteers and future homeowners.

Builds are typically from 8 am to 4 pm on Saturdays; sign-ups are announced at general meetings (our calendar can be found on the home page). We carpool to the build site, so not to worry if you don’t have a car. If you have any questions, contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@uofmhabitat.org or use our online form.
